Toni Templeton Obituary
Services for Mrs. Toni Yvette Templeton will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Post Oak C.M.E. Church, with the Rev. C. E. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak-Union Cemetery. Arrangements are with Craig Funeral Home. Mrs. Templeton was an English teacher for many years, and she was the head of the English Department at Forest Park Middle School. Survivors include her loving husband, Melvin Templeton Jr.; her children, Clementine, Melvin III and Chelsey; her parents, L. C. and Clementine Patterson; her brother, Thaddeus Patterson, and her grandmother, Redell Patterson-Scott. Visitation hours will be noon-8 p.m. today, September 17, 2010, at the funeral home. A "Toni Templeton Memorial Fund" has been set up at Chase Bank.

I came across a quote from Dr. Phil that seem to bring some sort of sense to this for me, "If you have no purpose, you have no passion. If you have no passion, you have sold yourself out."
Well, from all of the family and friends whose lives have been touched by Toni, we know she, "didn't sell herself out." She had plenty of purpose and passion in her life which spilled over to all of her colleagues, friends, sorrors, students, family and especially her children.
Though she is physically gone, we need only look to each other to feel her presence and passion; then look to her students and her children to see her light!
May God continue to let her light shine through us all!

I am glad that I had the opportunity to work and teach with Toni. Even through the rocky times at Forest Park I learned a lot from her. She loved her family and her students.
