Toni WOODWARD Obituary
It is with the heaviest of hearts we share with you the loss of our daughter, sister, wife, family member and friend Toni Kohn Woodward on Sunday September 7, 2014. There are no words to express the impact of losing a young life.Toni was just 26 years old, born on June 15, 1988 to parents Jeff and Wendy Kohn. The middle of three siblings she leaves behind her brother Jordan and sister Tessa. Toni had two loves in her life, her husband Stephen Woodward and their baby/pup Murphy. Toni was born and raised in Calgary, graduating from Rundle College High School in 2006. She went on to complete her degree at the University of Southern California in 2010 and then on to graduate from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2011. Toni was currently residing in Los Angeles, California with Stephen and Murphy while pursuing her creative genius by starting her own L.A. based fine fashion jewelry company, Toni Kohn Jewelry. Toni will forever be remembered for her uncompromising love and devotion to her family and friends, her tenacity and strength of spirit, the passion and excellence with which she pursued her dreams, and her say it like it is honesty. Discomfort was just something to be overcome, Toni knew how to dig in, push harder and never give up, achieve it not just in the ordinary way but in a unique and totally bedazzled way. Toni was drawn to all things beautiful and it was no surprise after pursuing her love of dance throughout her life she chose to channel her gifts towards creating beautiful things for others. Toni will be missed by so many including her husband Stephen Woodward, Murphy (their beloved dog), her parents Wendy and Jeff Kohn, siblings Jordan and Tessa, Grandparents Lea and Bill Kohn and Sandy Stern, Aunts and Uncles Rosalin Kohn and Gontron Bolduc, Michael Stern and Luly Martin, Peter and Lora Stern, Joel and Valery Hector, and Darice Stern. Cousins Kirstin Anderson, Jared Stern, Max Hector, Zoe Hector and Olivia Stern. Extended family Bob and Dianne Woodward, Amy and Dave Kennedy (Emily). Pre deceased by Grandfather-Robert Stern, and Uncle- Tony Stern. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Toni Kohn Woodward Memorial Fund, set up by the Kohn Family to enrich the lives of underprivileged children in Southern California in the areas of health, fitness and the arts. Donations can be sent c/o The Kohn Family to Suite 200, 1029 17th Ave. SW. Calgary AB T2T 0A9, or at any Scotiabank location. The Funeral will be held at Temple B'nai Tikvah, 900 47th Avenue SW, on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Chevra Kadisha Cemetary, at the corner of 37th Street SW and 22X. Reception to follow at the Carriage House Inn at 9030 McLeod Trail South. Arrangements in care of the Chevra Kadisha of Calgary 403 244-4717.

I am so sorry to hear about this tragic loss. I knew and taught Toni in grade 5 and remember her smile and her positive energy that she carried with her everyday. I am so saddened and my heart and prayers go out to Wendy, Jeff and Tessa.

I remember like yesterday, she was making jokes about her mom, her husband, her lovely family ..
I remember how her eyes were brightening when she talks about her doggy ... This is so sad and so shocking, so unfair .. She was our student last year, and she was a great make-up artist..
