Tony Hendrix Obituary
Tony was born on May 2, 1947, in Detroit to Tommie and Moultrie Hendrix. Tony is survived by his sister, Judy Terleckyj of Ravenna, Ohio; son, Sean Hendrix, 36, of Indianapolis; daughter, Katherine Hendrix, 34, of New York, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hendrix, 32; grandchildren, Daniel Hendrix, 4, and Michael Hendrix, 2; and pet cat, Toby, 8.
Tony graduated from Cass Technical High School on Jan. 29, 1965. He completed his Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Detroit Institute of Technology on Jan. 18, 1973, and completed his Master of Science in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Aug. 21, 1979. Tony served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged on April 4, 1971.
Tony worked for 30 years in the automotive and electronics industries and concluded his career in management consulting and real es-tate. At the height of his career, Tony held multiple executive positions within Delco Electronics. Tony also enjoyed tutoring and mentoring local high school students in math and science.
Tony enjoyed kayaking, biking, shooting, among other outdoor activities, and attended Village Baptist Church in Destin, Fla.
A memorial service will be held for Tony on Monday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. at Village Baptist Church, 101 Matthew Blvd., Destin.
Memorial donations to South Walton High School for tutoring and mentoring programs are encouraged.
Tony was a devoted father, dedicated professional and loved by friends and family.

People who listen to us when we talk are rare ... Tony was one of those. He had an engineering brain but a Teddy Bear heart. Still miss him and care very much how his children, grandchildren, other family and friends have gotten along since the shared loss. I consider the time we spent with the Hendrix family among life's best times. Love to you all.

My love and prayers go out to each of you. Tony will be missed by so mamy who knew him. I'm thankful I was able to share in a small part of his life. He was a good man and to me a Gentle Giant just like his Uncle Elbert. He told me many times how proud he was of his children. Hold onto the sweet memories.
