Tony Neville Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 14, 2014.
We the family of James Anthony 'Tony' Neville are devastated to announce the death of a beloved husband, son, uncle and friend on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends and in the arms of his wife.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Tony Sr. and the late Shirley (Curtis) Neville.
Tony's career started 27 years ago with Curry's Ambulance Service in Sydney and continued to Emergency Health Services, where he was employed as a senior operations paramedic. He always had great professionalism in his day to day conduct at work and anyone who knew Tony would know how much he loved his job. In 2012 he was the recipient of the exemplary service medal from the lieutenant governor of Nova Scotia.
Tony grew up in Glace Bay and had numerous great childhood stories. He loved everything fast; trucks, cars and motorbikes. He and Debbie made weekly trips every Sunday to every car lot possible, between here and Halifax.
Tony was also past president of local NSGEU and held a black belt in taekwondo which he was extremely proud of.
He loved his family, friends and coworkers with every piece of his heart and everyone who knew him loved him as well.
He is survived by his wife Deborah (MacDonald), Sydney; father, Tony Neville, Glace Bay; nephews, Brett (Connie), Jeff (Danielle) and Justin, all of Glace Bay; nieces, Stefanie (Chris), Vanessa and Erine; brothers-in-law, Willie Seymour and Wayne (Jo) MacDonald; mother-in-law, Marie MacDonald; numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his mother, Tony was predeceased by sister, Debbie Seymour and paternal grandparents, Larry and Rose Neville, maternal grandparents, Henry and Carmella Curtis, father-in-law, Angus MacDonald.
Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church, East Bay, Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
Donations in Tony's memory may be made to ALS Society of N.S, and Canadian Liver Foundation. Tony also wanted people to look and remember to sign their donor cards.
Online condolences may be made by visiting www.twcurry.com.
Come With Me
God saw he was getting tired and the cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me."
With tearful hearts we watched him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Debbie, my heart breaks for you. Tony was a true gentleman although we tried many times to convert him. The pictures were a testiment to the great friend he was to all who knew him as well as those who just had chance encounters through his work. Heaven has another angel.
