Tracey Hamilton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 30, 2024.
Tracey Lynn (Wilson) Hamilton, 65, of Bartlesville, OK passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2024, at St. John's Ascension Hospital in Tulsa, OK.

Tracey was born on July 26, 1958, in Concordia, KS to Marilyn and Vic Wilson of Clifton, KS. She had two siblings, Teryl and Reed. Tracey attended elementary school in Clifton and ElDorado, KS. She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, KS. She also earned a cosmetology license from St. Joseph's School of Cosmetology in Beatrice, NE.

Tracey was passionate about her work at Martha's Task, a non-profit organization designed to give jobs, job training and emotional support to women in poverty. Tracey spent 15 years working at Martha's Task first as a seamstress, then an instructor and finally the store manager. She was a Christian who believed in and practiced anonymous generosity to those in need.

A talented and creative seamstress, Tracey enjoyed sharing her creations with friends and family, and her sewing skills with Martha's task clients helping them to be self-sufficient. Her love extended to animals as well. Tracey adopted abandoned animals throughout her lifetime and was quick to whip up scarves and jackets for dogs. Her life journey exemplified the quote by Mahatma Ghandi, "The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others".

Tracey married Dennis Aumock. They had a son, Jacob. The couple divorced. Later, Tracey married Robert Hamilton. They had a daughter, Alley.

Tracey is survived by her son, Jacob Aumock (Jessica), Kansas City, MO, grand-daughter, Katie Aumock, Kansas City, MO, father, Vic Wilson, Hanover, KS, sister, Teryl Goeckel (Doug), Washington, KS, brother, Reed Wilson (Christine), Clyde, KS, stepsisters, Donna Beckmann (Darwin), Bremen, KS; Sheila Meyer (Dave), Beatrice, NE; Karen Meyer (James), Hanover, KS; Lisa Brier, Charleston, SC; Jodi Sullivan (Scott), Flint, Texas, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Hamilton, daughter, Alley Hamilton, mother, Marilyn Wilson, step-mother, Carol Wilson and step-brother, Michael Doebele.

A memorial service to honor Tracey will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Martha's Task, 718 S Johnstone Avenue, Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The public is welcome.

An inurnment/graveside service will also be held on July 27, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Clifton Cemetery. The public is welcome.

The family is requesting that memorials be sent in care of Martha's Task, 718 S. Johnstone Avenue, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003, to help continue the mission that Tracey believed in so passionately. Martha's Task may also be contacted at 918-336-8275.

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I have fond memories of Tracey as a young girl when she lived down the street from us in Clifton.

Tracey/I mostly lost contact after high school. At some point in early years of 2000s car trouble deposited her in Bartlesville OK, where we lived. We were able to pick up where we left off with our friendship. As luck would have it, I served on the board at Martha´s Task at that time. MT was so lucky to have this "diamond" join their organization. Vicky
