Dr.Bishop WOW where do it start? Im gonna try not to be long but I HAVE to show my respect. When I first transferred to Atlanta Metro I didnt want to I was just going to school because others around me kept pushing me to. From the first conversation weve ever had u were able to discover some of my strengths and weaknesses. You paired me with the professors you felt would be great for me and I have to say u were right except one lol but u persuaded me drop that class. I dont open up to new people I had a hard time doing that and this just makes it even harder. There were days I came to school and did NOTHING just went to the library and went to sleep until your class. No matter what I didnt do I made sure to not miss your class. Ive never intentionally missed your class I mightve been late on a couple assignments but I made it lol not only because Spanish is my major but because I just loved your class the vibe and everything was great! Long story short I went up there today to enroll back into classes and to specifically show you that Im back and Im better! I wanted to show you how much Ive grown and progressed I know youll be proud of me! I did everything I needed to do but my last step was to register for my classes and I asked for YOU! When the lady broke the news to me I was shocked I asked a billion questions but it didnt quite hit me until it got close to the time for me to leave and when I headed to your office and your name was no longer there . Dr.Bishop as much as I keep saying I dont wanna go back now... I know that I have to! Youve just given me an additional reason for me to push even harder although it wont be easy I promise not to let you down. To his friends and family THANKYOU for sharing such an awesome guy with us! P.S. I just found our picture that we took for an assignment in another class now Ill forever hold you close!

I will miss your smiling face and sweet voice. Thank you for being a great colleague. Every time I pass your office, I can't help but think I'll never get to stick my head in and saw 'hi'. Rest in Peace.

I am currently a student of Dr. Bishop's and very devastated to hear the news of his passing. Although I know many are grieving and may have unanswered questions as to why such a bright and caring spirit like Dr. Bishop's has left us so soon, I would like to say that I am forever thankful to have such a remarkable teacher like him and will always remember not only the course information but the life-long skills he has taught me. I recently enrolled in his Spanish class and it at first seemed intimidating but with the compassion and persevering attitude Dr. Bishop encouraged me to have, I know I will take on this class and not only this class, he has helped me understand no obstacle is too hard to overcome and to be open to new challenges even if they require you to step out your comfort zone. I appreciate you Dr. Bishop and thanks for always being not only a great teacher but a genuine person to your students. We will all miss you. To Dr. Bishop's family and friends, you all are in my prayers. We love you Dr. Bishop

Tracy, over the years we knew you, your departures were always to find new opportunities. We missed you, of course, but celebrated your successes and welcomed you back to St. Louis when you returned. Now we just miss you. Its devastating to think we wont hear your voice again or see your smile. You will remain in our memories and in our hearts. From Gail Meeks, Virginia Braxs and Nancy Schnurr

To: Bishop family
My heart is very heavy after hearing the news about Dr. Bishop. I was a student of his and we instantly became friends due to age similarity and the fact that I would come to his office often and we would sit and chat about spanish and life in general. It's hard for me to accept that I will never again see the teacher that I called my friend. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you, but please find comfort in knowing that Dr. Bishop made a huge impact on so many of us students. I especially share your grief and will miss his caring heart and his eagerness to help me learn spanish. I got a "B" in span1 (due to hard work and a great teacher) and was looking forward to taking span2 with him in June. I'm just shocked and trying to process this tremendous loss.

I was so shocked to hear of Dr. Bishop's death. Just a week ago he was helping me by filling out my graduation papers. My condolences to his family, friends and other students. He shall be missed. He was very passionate about teaching Spanish, and I learned a lot from him. May he rest in peace and may God bless his soul.
