TRINA POWELL Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 26 to Jul. 1, 2016.
POWELL, TRINA ELISE, 45
Ocala- Trina Elise Powell, 45, was involved in a car accident on June 3, 2016 which resulted in her untimely death.
She was a loving wife to Randy Powell, a dedicated mother to Calvin Bell, a devoted daughter to Cathie and Josh Vibber, and had an especially strong bond with her sister, Trisha. She loved Trisha's husband, Chad Filley, and adored their daughter.
Trina had a special touch which resonated in both her professional life and personal relationships. She aspired to be a great teacher, believing every student had the potential to be a scholar. Because of her struggles with dyslexia as a child, she could empathize and relate to students who learned differently. She leaves behind a legacy of successful students, as well as colleagues inspired by her creative and nurturing classroom techniques.
Trina cherished her family, her friends, her students and her kitties. She enjoyed beach time and dancing. She will be remembered for a gentle, loving, kind-hearted spirit which complemented her ethical, organized, straight forward approach to completing tasks. Her ready smile, warm laugh and affectionate hugs are embedded in the hearts of the many lives she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held during the month of July. Details of the place and time will be published in the near future. I had Trina Powell as my third grade teacher back in 2010. To this day I constantly remember her kindness. She used to have these "parents folders" that we would bring home to show our parents how we were doing in school. I had crossed out the "parents" part on my folder, since I did not have any. Trina noticed this and pulled me aside and made me a special "grandparents folder" instead. Such a small but impactful gesture. That meant the world to me as a kid and I think about her fondly all the time. Not sure if anyone will see this but I will never forget her kindness, and I will carry it with me for the rest of my life.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Powell as the father of one of students. Dyson loved her and talked about her all the time. She pushed him to become a straight A student from an average grade. She will be missed by everyone whos lives she touched.

I had the privilege of working with Trina at Cornerstone School. I met Calvin there when he was little. Trina and my daughter Karen were teen models at Burdines a long time ago. Trina always had a beautiful smile for everyone. My deepest sympathy to Cathie, Trisha, Randy and Calvin and all the family. She was taken too soon but will have an eternal place in all our hearts. God bless you.

Trina was a special person and teacher. I was her coworker at Cornerstone and she was my daughter's second teacher. She was so excited to have Calvin start preschool and be at school with her. My deepest sympathy to Calvin, Cathie, Trisha, and her husband, Randy. RIP Trina

I'm so blessed by God that I had the opportunity to see and speak to again after so so many years. I thank God for that. I remember you most as your mommies shadow always running along with or behind her. You were such a beautiful and loving little girl. I'm glad I have those memories too. "In the arms of Jesus we must leave you, in our hearts we will always keep you." I love you Trina.

Trina stayed with my husband Simon and I for a week when she was a teenager and was a bright, thoughtful guest who was a pleasure to be around. It was always wonderful to see her and experience her warmth. I loved being her "Uncle Bill."
