Trudy Booth peacefully passed away on March 17, 2022 with her family by her side. Trudy was born in Trimiklini, Cyprus on April 9, 1928 to Eugenia and Michael Papamichael. After graduating high school, Trudy was employed in Larnaca, Cyprus as a seamstress and then a bookkeeper for a shoe store before heading off to the American University in Beirut to study nursing. In 1952 Trudy became a Registered Nurse and worked in Beirut for a year before deciding to go to England to study midwifery. She worked at Plaistow Maternity hospital in East London where she rode her bike to deliver babies just like in "Call the Midwife". She returned to the American University in Beirut in 1954 where she worked as a Charge RN until she immigrated to Toronto, Canada to work as an RN. While in Canada she meets her husband Brian on a blind date. After two weeks Brian proposed and six weeks later they were married. They fell in love with California, first living in Mill Valley, followed by Sebastopol and then Santa Rosa for the past 45 years. Trudy spent 35 years in the nursing field in Sonoma County working as an RN at Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Community Hospital and North Coast Rehabilitation Facility in Santa Rosa. In her free time, Trudy tended to her beautiful gardens, both flower and vegetable, enjoyed cooking and entertaining, spent time with her family, and traveled around the United States and Europe. Trudy was predeceased in death by her husband Brian (who passed away in November 2021 just eight days shy of their 65th wedding anniversary), and survived by her son Norman Booth (Sumiko), daughters Lynette Merritt (John), and Diana Wolfe (Dan), their nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 pm, April 8 at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park in Sebastopol.
