MAURER, Trudy Lucille, 88, of Tullahoma, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015, at Harton Regional Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 24, 1927, in Blue Mound, Kansas, to the late Robert Earle and Dorothy Lorene Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Mickey; her sisters Georgie and Colleen; her daughters Saundra and Renee; and her son-in-law Mark. She is survived by her husband Thomas E. Maurer, of Tullahoma; her brother Glenn and his wife Nancy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister Gladys, of Palm Desert, California; children, Donna and her husband Bob, of York, South Carolina, Cheri, of Henderson, Nevada, David and his wife Rosie, of Orange, California, Deborah of Tullahoma, Timothy and his wife Christine, of San Jacinto, California, and Thomas and his wife Lisa, of Tullahoma; grandchildren, James and his wife Winter, Ginger and her husband Scott, Jill and her husband Michael, Connie and her husband Mike, Ariel, David II and his wife Lovey, Daniel and his wife Haley, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Fatima, Joshua, Timothy II, Peter, Paul, Nicole and her husband John, and Jackie and her husband Roger; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jami, Summer, Cody, Sidney, Tammy, Kylie, Ashley, Tristan, Samuel, Chloe, Cassandra and John Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Trudy was led to the Lord at the age of 7 by her mother in Blue Mound, Kansas. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Picher, Oklahoma. After graduating from Picher High School, Trudy moved to California where she lived for the next 60 years. Trudy loved ministering to people and began working in the missions of Los Angeles after moving to California. In 1971, with her husband Tom, they began Bellflower Faith Temple, where they served as the pastors for 33 years. At the age of 76, Trudy retired from the pastorate and moved to Tullahoma. In retirement, Trudy continued to touch many lives for Christ. Her life's theme has always been, "I give you Jesus." Visitation will be held from 5 till 9 p.m. today, Jan. 1, at Kilgore Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, at the First Baptist Church of Tullahoma, 108 East Grundy St., with the Rev. Christian Watts officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery in Normandy, with the Rev. Herb Hester officiating. Kilgore Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Trudy was one of my best friends. I admired her love and zeal for The Lord. I pray I can be like her when I grow up. I am going to miss her terribly.
