JONES, Tudor Lloyd
The family of Tudor Lloyd Jones sadly announces his sudden passing on July 16, 2012.
Dad was born in Bangor, SK in 1915. He married Mary Elizabeth Livingstone in January 1942. In March 1942 he signed up with the army in the tank corps, 21st Armoured Governor General Foot Guards to serve his country in WWII. He headed overseas where he spent three and a half years. Lloyd spent time training in England, Wales and Scotland and then he fought in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany until the end of the war. After his discharge he went back to work at the Canadian Pacific Rail and later C.P. Express until his retirement in 1976. In retirement, he was never without something to fill his time. Dad loved life and having fun. He was a very social person and made many friends always taking time to have a visit and coffee. Lloyd had many hobbies throughout his lifetime including coin collecting, playing cards, gardening, horse racing, curling, bowling and watching sports, especially the Riders and the Blue Jays. He loved to use his yearly vacations to pack up the family in the car and drive somewhere throughout Saskatchewan, Canada and into the United States. He was a family man first and foremost, a loving husband, a caring father, a doting grandfather, and a proud great-grandfather. Lloyd was very present in all our lives. He was always there for us to offer unconditional love, encouragement and support. Dad was happiest when his family was gathered together. Dad was predeceased by his wife Mary; brothers William (Bill), Elved, Albert and Ben; sisters Eirwen, Ceinwen, Buddig and Linwen. Lloyd is survived by his children Margot Kopas, Don (Jan) Jones and Arlie (Bob) Putnam; grandchildren Trevor (Connie) Jones, Greg (Gwen) Jones, Kris (Jen) Jones, Tara (Doug) Baldwin and Tasha (Cam) Bedry; great -grandchildren Carson and Ryan Jones, Kayla Jones, Steven and Amanda Baldwin, and Adam and Erin Bedry. Also surviving is a sister Eunice Purtell from Kingston, ON as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
After an extremely well lived life we take comfort in knowing he will receive a hero's welcome in his next journey. We all feel grateful for his life and his interest and love for us to the end. He was always thankful for all that his family and caregivers did for him. We would like to thank Bev and Karen and the staff at Extendicare and Sherbrooke for their care. We appreciated them for taking the time to tell us about some of the things they enjoyed about dad.

A Celebration of Lloyd's Life will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, first right past Briargate Rd.). Complimentary valet parking available.
