Tyler Schimke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2025.
Tyler J. Schimke, 34, passed away at home unexpectedly due to an accident working on machinery. He was born Nov. 16, 1990, in Clinton, WI to Michael J. and Susan E. (Tschanz) Schimke. He graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 2009. On July 9, 2011, he married the love of his life, Jeannette M. Hanus, at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. He attended UW-Rock County and graduated from UW-Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in IT. Tyler was the IT Manager at Insight FS in Jefferson, WI.

Tyler's hobbies and interests included 4H, Rock County show choir Heatwave, Showcase Singers, community musicals, woodworking, fishing, raising chickens and dreamed of raising goats (and anything else!). He was a grease monkey, a man of all traits. Tyler was someone you could always count on, no matter the time or need, he was there ready to give a helping hand anyway he could. He also managed to be amazing at everything he did but somehow the most humble man anyone knew. The most important things in his life were God, his wife, and his children, whom he loved with all his heart. His family was his priority, always being patient and making time for the small moments with his kids, reading, and rough housing; bigger memories of weekend bike rides, helping with their 4H projects and yearly vacation up north to enjoy more fishing. Tyler exemplified the teachings of Jesus Christ by his every word and deed, not just with his friends and family but in all facets of his life. He will be especially remembered for the love and devotion he had for our Lord which was truly evident to everyone he met.

He leaves behind a continuing legacy including his wife Jeannette 'Nettie' Schimke; six children: Nora, Greyson, Everly, Stella, Vivian, and Agnes; his parents Michael and Susan Schimke; sister Amber (Mark) Walkey; in-laws: P. Michael and Frances Hanus; Jeannette's siblings: Mike Hanus (Julie), Paul (Heidi) Hanus, Tony (Sally) Hanus, Becky (Troy) Phillips, John (Karin) Hanus, Elizabeth (Phil) Bergeron, Bob (Lindsey) Hanus, Jim (Domini) Hanus, Joe (Elisa) Hanus, Debbie (Carl) Hahn, Dave Hanus, Katie (Matt) Hanson, and Brianna (Justin) Schwenkner; grandmother Evelyn Tschanz; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bradley Schimke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at NATIVITY OF MARY PARISH, Janesville. Fr. Chad Droessler and Fr. Vince Racanelli will concelebrate, burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. I was heartbroken to hear about Tyler´s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Tyler when he was a student and employee at the UW-Rock County campus. Tyler was wonderful to work with. He was gifted, hard working, eager to help and above all else...kind. He was a bright light and I feel lucky to have known and learned from him. My deepest sympathies to all of his friends and family.
