Valerie Towler Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and The Province on Feb. 15, 2005.

TOWLER _ Valerie Lynne passed away peacefully Thursday, February 10, 2005 after a valiantly fought battle with cancer. Born August 5, 1948, beloved daughter of Marjorie and George, she will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband and soul mate Ernie; her kids Peter and Noelle; her grandchildren Mikeyla, Dylan and Kyra; her sisters and brothers Francine, Steve, Leone, and Robert; numerous relatives, colleagues, and friends. Forever such a bright and beautiful soul, Val was an incredible source of love and inspiration for those lucky enough to have had her in their life. A dedicated career woman after proudly completing her degree in Computer Science, Val excelled and impressed many in her professional life, but always had time and energy for her family and friends. She had such a lust for life, a passion for gardening, and a huge heart which touched the lives of many through her painting, memory box donations, and wise words and support. A Celebration of her incredible life will be held on Thursday, February 17th at 3:00pm at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14664 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey. A memorial table will be available to display any photos or items that visitors would like to bring to help celebrate the many beautiful pieces and times of her life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I also had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Val through the ONE Stroke group and quickly became friends, she made it sooo easy. What a warm hearted, upbeat, generous and classy Lady. She loved her family very much. I hope all the sweet memories that you have stored up will bring you comfort during this time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Val through the One Stroke group. She was always an inspiration to me, how she had a great smile and the positive thoughts she had through such a difficult time. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. Ernie was always on her mind and their moments where cherished ones. My prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to Val's family. I worked with Val at Pemberton's head office in the 80's and always found her a happy and gregarious person. She often put a smile on my face when I least expected it.
