Verlin D. "Vic" Cressley, 77, of West Deer Township, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Natrona Heights, son of the late Charles A. and Lizzie C. (Himes) Cressley. Vic has lived most of his life in West Deer Township. He was a bus driver for the Port Authority and a BFI driver for many years. He was a veteran of the Air Force and a member of Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, Brackenridge American Legion and the Brookville Eagles. Vic was a graduate of Deer Lakes High School and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, hunting, fishing, camping outdoors and his camp at Brookville. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jeanie L. (Hill) Cressley; daughter, Sheree L. (Raymond) Hooks Jr., of Arnold; step-children, James (Paula) Aldis, of New Castle, Walter E. Preisner, of Savonna, N.Y., Marvin J. (Teresa) Preisner, of Bellefourthe, S.D., Donald W. (Melissa) Aldis, of Apollo, and Gary Robinson, of Natrona Heights; eight grandchildren; and his siblings, Leroy Cressley, of Tarentum, and Jo Ann (Ronnie) Miller, of Ohio. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Private interment will be in Pleasant Unity Cemetery, West Deer Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley, New Kensington.
