Veronica Quinn Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 18, 2024.
Houston - Veronica Plizga Krzysiak Quinn was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2024, after a short illness. She was 96.

Veronica was preceded in death by her first husband Andrew Krzysiak in 2001, and by parents Frances and Michael Plizga, and brother Michael Plizga.

She is survived by husband Frank Quinn of San Angelo; daughter Margaret Kastner (David) of Cincinnati, OH; daughter Marilyn Patterson (Joe) of Houston, TX; granddaughter Laurie Doughman (Scott) of Cincinnati; grandson Andrew Pate (Lorin) of Houston; granddaughter Allison Pino (Santiago) of Houston; and five great grandchildren: Paige and Ryan Doughman (Cincinnati), and John, Charles and Elinor Pate (Houston).

Veronica was born on January 15, 1928, in Detroit. She graduated from Chadsey High School in 1946, where she later taught school. While growing up, she helped her parents run their three Plizga's Shoes stores.

Veronica was the first woman in her family to attend college. She earned a BBA degree at University of Michigan's School of Business in 1950. Veronica was an active member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority at U of M. In 1954, she married Andrew Krzysiak from Uniontown, PA. She received her M.Ed. degree from Marygrove College. Veronica then taught English at Detroit's Chadsey high school for 27 years. Following retirement, Veronica and Andrew moved to San Angelo, TX, to be near their daughter, Marilyn, and her family. After the death of Andrew, Veronica met and married Frank Quinn in San Angelo in 2002.

In 2021 Veronica was beginning to need assistance; she moved to a Houston, TX senior community near Marilyn. She absolutely delighted in celebrating all holidays with family for the first time in years.

Visitation for Veronica will be Friday, June 21, 5-7 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 22, 10am at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial next to Andrew will take place after the funeral mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Holy Angels Church (2202 Rutgers, San Angelo, TX 76904); or the Macular Degeneration Association.
