Victoria Kiel

Victoria (Godek) Kiel, 90, of Berlin, loving wife of David Kiel for a blissful 65 years, passed away on Jan. 8, 2023, at Autumn Lake in New Britain, after a short illness. Born in Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Raczkowski) Godek. She was a resident of Meriden and Berlin, and a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.
Victoria worked for Hospital of Central CT as a transcriptionist for many years, as well as at Meriden-Wallingford Hospital. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was very good at it. She always made sure that her husband and children had healthy food to eat. She loved being outdoors, especially taking time tending to her garden. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and she will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her beloved husband David, she leaves her children; Daniel Kiel and his wife Jennifer of Sherborn, MA, Marilyn Doukas and her husband Paul of Wallingford, and Joan Kiel of Pittsburgh, PA. She also leaves her grandchildren; Ashley, Lauren and Jacqueline Kiel of Sherborn, MA, and Lisa Doukas of Wallingford; her sister Clara Oblon and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Thomas Kiel, three sisters, and one brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Jan. 12th from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church at 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
