Vincent Caminiti Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2024.
Vincent Caminiti, 80, passed away on August 31, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Vincent was born and raised on Mulberry Street in lower Manhattan, a neighborhood in New York City affectionately known as "Little Italy." He was a man for whom family was everything, and though he rose from his humble beginnings to the boardrooms of some of the biggest companies, Vince never forgot his roots.

After graduating from Power Memorial High School and Fordham University, Vince served in the National Guard. He joined American Airlines in 1966 and worked his way into senior management, moving with the company to Dallas/Fort Worth in 1979. In 1994, he and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia when he joined Delta Air Lines, where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Distribution, leading the organization's e-commerce launch and forever revolutionizing the airline's business.

Later in life, Vince wrote a book dedicated to his beloved parents, a testament to the fabric of a close family and the most important things in life. He had a passion for golf, travel, history and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he cherished his family, his cats, and the moments of humor and joy he shared with loved ones and the close friends he made in both Texas and Georgia. Among the most striking attributes Vince possessed was the ability to find humor in the everyday things in life and make those around him feel better through laughter.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Caminiti; his daughter, Elizabeth Caminiti; his brothers, Paul, Michael, and Peter Caminiti and sister-in-law Diane Caminiti, as well as cherished nieces and nephews.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Susan Caminiti, his first wife, Beth Caminiti and sister-in-law, Camille Caminiti.

Vince's legacy of kindness, leadership, love and laughter will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
