Vivian Lauer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 28, 2012.
Vivian (Sonnie) Lauer, 52, of Russellville, passed away peacefully at her home on February 3, 2012 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Fort Leonard Wood on January 10, 1960, the daughter of Robert T. and Mary Ann (Stoehr) Kelsay.

Vivian (Sonnie) was a nature enthusiast and fond of the outdoors. She loved gardening and caring for her flowers. She enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing her culinary gifts with others. One of her greatest enjoyments was spending time with her friends. She was employed with the Department of Health and Senior Services in Jefferson City.

Ms. Lauer is survived by her father, Robert T. Kelsay and wife Shirley of Gravois Mills; siblings, Bob Kelsay of Lake Ozark; Becky Trinka of Rocky Mount, Francis Alumbaugh of Eldon, Frank Kelsay of Sunrise Beach, Angie Stoehr Rodriguez and Sharon Stoehr Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, and Karen Stoehr Rodriguez of Florida; numerous devoted friends; and her beloved dogs, Montana and Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Kay Shreeve, her mother, Marianne Stoehr Rodriguez; and sister Cleo Moss.

Vivian's wishes were for her earthly body to be used for medical research and education. A celebration of her life will be held in honor of her love for the outdoors on Sunday, March 25, 2:00-4:00 pm at the United Central Church of Christ Pavillion, 9811 Dawson Road, Russellville. For additional information, contact Donna Schuessler, 573-819-0376.

Those wishing to do so may make memorial donations in her name to Hospice Compassus of Jefferson City or to the charity of the donor's choice.
