Waller Irwin

IRWIN, Robert Waller July 26, 1925 - May 17, 2009 It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear husband, loving father, adored grampa and very soon to be great-grampa, a role he was looking forward to fulfilling. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shilly (Georgina); his daughters Maureen (Brian) Hesje, Diana (Keith) Eccles, Gayle Quick, Carol Irwin and Susan Irwin. He was adored by his 11 grandchildren and he loved all of them deeply, Erin Brosnihan (Jon) and soon-to-be Baby Brosnihan of Grand Cayman Island, Allison Hesje (Rynhard) of Waco, Texas, R.J. Eccles (Peter) of Edmonton, Lindsay Chmilar (Chris) of New Brigden, Kelly Quick (Marc) of Australia, Sarah Chmilar (Nick) of Edmonton, Stacy Quick (Mark) of Calgary, Jonathan Chmilar of Edmonton, Meghan Samoil and Kyle Samoil of Calgary and Connor Robert Waller Chmilar of Edmonton. We know we were the centre of his life as he was the centre of ours. He is also survived by his sister Beth Gallen and his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Marion Irwin, all of Calgary, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Tom in 2007, his son-in-law Ron Quick in 2008 and his brothers George, Harvey and Mac. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Waller's full and rich life at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. In memory of Waller, donations may be made to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, 1502 College Plaza, 8215 - 112 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7.
