WALTER B. BLACKWELL
On Sunday, September 13, 2015. Loving and devoted father of LaQuan Norman and Shea Tyler; beloved son of the late Thomas Blackwell and Louise Crenshaw-Blackwell; brother of Mildred Blackwell and the late George Blackwell. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Dominic Tyler and Isabella Norman; other relatives and friends. Mr. Blackwell may be viewed at STEWART FUNERAL HOME, 4001 Benning Rd., N.E., Wednesday, September 23 from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.

Walt was such a joker. One night after playing basketball, he drove up next to me and revved his GTO engine, I revved the engine of my Cougar and when the light changed he burned rubber and left me in the dust. However, just over the hill a cop pulled him over and he was mad as hell at me. But nothing that a good game of golf couldn't cure, as we often did.
