Walter Hughes Obituary
MUNCIE - Walter Allen Hughes, 52, passed away Saturday morning, February 4, 2017, at Liberty Village.
He was born on August 15, 1964 in Muncie the son of Billie J. and Bettie L. (Downs) Hughes and graduated from Muncie Southside High School.
Walter had a fondness for taking in and caring for stray animals. He also enjoyed astronomy and chasing a good thunderstorm. However his passion was writing music and playing the guitar.
Surviving are three children, Kayle Johnsten (husband, Eric), Indianapolis, Anson Hughes, Muncie and Hunter Hughes, Muncie; a grandson, Wyatt; a brother, Todd Hughes (wife, Christina), Muncie; a sister, Toni Blanchard (husband, Phil), Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Billie J. "Duke" Hughes, Jr.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to A.R.F., 1209 W. Riggin Rd., Muncie, IN 47303.
