CLEARWATER - Lauer, Walter J., age 86, retired farmer and dairyman, passed away on Thurs, Dec. 11, 2008. Visitation, 1-4pm, Sun, with family present 1-3pm, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary. Rosary, 7pm, Sun. Funeral Mass, 11am, Mon, both at St. John's Catholic Church, Clonmel. Preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Martha (Hemmen) Lauer; daughter, Kathleen Grist; son, Keith Lauer. Survivors, wife of 59 years, Bernadine "Catherine"; children, Kenneth (Josephine) Lauer of Clearwater, Bernice (William) Martling of Whitewater, Earl (Sherry) Lauer of Wichita, Ronald (Catherine) Lauer of Wichita, Diane (Kevin) Denning of Wichita, Daniel (Melissa) Lauer of Clearwater; Brothers and sisters, Linus (Mary Lou) Lauer, Geraldine Steiner, Winifred Albert, Ambrose (Veronica) Lauer, Bernetta (Paul) Girrens all of Wichita; 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren Memorials: St. John's Catholic Church, 18630 W. 71st So., Viola, KS. 67149 or Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation, 1236 Ginger Crescent, Virginia Beach, VA. 23453. www.webb-shinklemortuary.com

So many memories of growing up with the Lauers. Walt was a wonderful person to all of us. My parents thought the world of him. Walt will never be forgotten by any of us Finneys'. The whole family is in our prayers and we all no that he has gone to be with our wonderful Lord. We love you Walt and you will never be forgotten. We love all of you.

Catherine, I'm so sorry for the loss of Walter. You were always at the Smarsh functions and so good to my mom (Agnes Cantrell) and my Aunt Teresa Jacobs. I always enjoyed the teasing he gave me. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
