Walter Pue Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2025.
Walter W. Pue, 89, formerly of Naperville, IL, passed away on January 25, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Carol (née Wragg); his son, Bill (LouAnn); his daughters, Amanda Kennedy and Heather (Jim) Barkdoll; four cherished granddaughters, Brooke (Matt), Alexia (Dylan) Sabrina, and Grace; and one beloved great-granddaughter, Camryn. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles & Jean (née Sandom), sister, Joan Souder, and twin brother, Charles.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Walter was a gifted athlete in his youth, excelling in basketball, soccer, and baseball. His passion for sports extended into his time in the U.S. Army, where he proudly played basketball. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, Walter dedicated his career to his work as a Financial Controller with Sears Roebuck, a role that eventually brought him to Chicago, IL.

In Chicago, Walter and Carol built a life centered on family, love, and community. Walter's lifelong passion for sports continued through his dedication to officiating basketball, baseball, and soccer for an extraordinary 50 years.

Walter will be remembered for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. He left an enduring impact through his honesty, fairness, and warm-hearted nature. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A private service to celebrate Walter's life will be held at a later date for immediate family.
