He was the companion of Joan M. Balthaser. Born in Shartlesville, he was the son of the late Walter W. Sr., and Sally F. (Gomburt) Wengert.

Walter was a life member and administrator of the Shartlesville Fire Company; and also a former firefighter for the fire company; and a member of the Pennsylvania Fireman's Association. Walter was predeceased by a sister, Doris Jean Wengert.

Joani, I smile remembering back to when Walter first invited us to a party. He wanted us to meet you, and be a part of the "puppies" birthdays. We had a good time then and years later. Those times will always be cherished. Our hearts are with you.

Enjoyed working with Walter at Leffler's; he was always adding humor to the conversations at work and at the family gatherings we were invited to.
