Warren McMillen

McMillen, Warren Warren N. McMillen, Jr. passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home in Maitland, FL. Warren fought an extended battle with a brain tumor over the last 8 years and, despite the struggle, he cherished every day and lived life to the fullest. Warren was born on December 05, 1939 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Virginia (Hodges) and Warren N. McMillen, Sr. His desire to be a good son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather were driving inspirations for Warren throughout his life. His dedication to business and education guided him not only in his career choices but also in everything else he did. Warren received his B.S. degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University in 1961 and his M.B.A. from DePaul University in 1969. He served in the United States Air Force as an Internal Auditor from 1961 -1964. He married the love of his life, his wife of 49 years, Karen (Holtorff) in 1966 in Chicago, IL and in 1970 moved his family to Maitland, FL. Warren and Karen raised their two daughters, Whitney and Kelley, in the Maitland community. With Karen by his side, Warren spent 45 years working tirelessly to build a successful CPA firm and reputation as a trusted advisor and friend to his business colleagues and clients. He enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, Corvettes and was an avid sports fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren in all of their various interests and activities. Warren leaves behind his loving wife Karen; daughter Whitney and her husband Angel Astacio of Oviedo; grandchildren Brooke and Dylan Astacio; daughter Kelley of Orlando; sister Jenna Lee McMillen of Texas; and numerous brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, neighbors, friends and grand-dogs.
