Wayne Coffey Obituary
Wayne Earl Coffey Age 62, of Kingsport layed down his earthly burdens and stepped out of time into eternity on Thursday March 25, 2010, surrounded by his family at Holston Valley following a brief illness.
Born to the late Clarence Earl and late Alice Rogers Coffey on April 20, 1947. He was a 1967 Graduate of Ketron High school. He served as a Military Police in the US Army during Vietnam War.
He retired from the Kingsport Press and after retirement enjoyed spending time at yard sales and Flea Markets.
Survived by his wife of 42 years Shirley Marshall Coffey and children Robin Swain and husband David, Christi Westmoreland and husband Bo, Jeff Fair and wife Loria, David Coffey and wife Angi and Tiffany Coffey. Six Grandchildren Brittany Reed and husband Travis, Philip Swain, Austin and Alicia Westmoreland, Natosha and Kendall Fair three Step-Grandchildren Makayla, Karlie and Darnell Powell one Great Granddaughter Lauren Reed one Brother Terry Coffey and wife Virginia all of Kingsport and Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ at 479 Gravely Road Kingsport TN.
He loved singing and playing music with his friends and for the Lord. He will be missed by lots of family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and church family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday (March 27, 2010) at East Lawn Funeral Home. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with Pastor Ronald Bo Westmoreland officiating. Grave side Services will be at East Lawn Memorial Park at 1:00 pm on Sunday (March 28, 2010). Pallbearers will be Jonathon Coffey, Philip Swain, Austin Westmoreland, Travis Reed, Micky Reed and Mike Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Bryant, Don Fields, John Rogers, Glen Rogers, Sam Rogers, David Phillips and Hubert Coffey.

Shirley, I am so sorry to learn of Wayne's death. However, we know that he is in a better place. May God bless you during this difficult time. I pray that He wraps you in His arms of love and mercy to sustain you at this time.

ALAN SANDIDGE, I want to say I am very sorry to here about waynes passing. I want you to know that your family is in my thoughts..I worked with wayne at the kingsport press, in pre-press we had alot of fun while working,he made the go buy so fast with is guick wit and is humor..

Shirley and family, I am so sorry to hear about Wayne or "Watch Me" as my family knew him. I pray for you to have peace and strength during this difficult time. I know that Wayne is up there with my brother, J.C. or Jabbie as some knew him, and they are smiling down upon us. My family always considered Wayne a "part of the family". He will be deeply missed.

Wayne sure made me laugh alot as he loved to do so himself. I will always remember him drawing and painting and his crazy jokes. I pray for my aunt Shirley, Robin, David and Christy that you can find peace during this time. May GOD comfort you at this time. I worked with Wayne at the Kingsport Press during the early 80's and got reaquainted with him the last couple of years. I saw him just the other day when he came into the store I work to buy a newspaper. Everyone who knew Wayne will miss him.
