He was a long-time member of the West Sacramento Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid golfer (even scoring a hole-in-one at Lincoln Hills Golf Course) plus had a treasured one-time experience playing at Pebble Beach. When Wayne entered the room you could feel the warmth the kindness and the sense of gentleness. His magnetic personality Drew your attention immediately. In the almost 20 years we have known Wayne & Denise has always been a great adventure. Wayne with his soft laughter, and Denise with her awesome sense of humor balanced their extraordinary relationship. Wayne was a wine enthusiast and we enjoyed many years of winetasting together.
My only regret, but not Wayne's, is that we never played golf together. That is probably the most positive thing that ever happened as it would've definitely destroyed our relationship. :-) hardly a Saturday went by without Wayne on the golf course. And of course October November and December when I was in hibernation and hard at work. However, we did find time to celebrate many birthdays together as October babies we had some great fun evenings.
Love for Wayne & Denise will always be in our fondest memories.

Wayne and I were best friends for 40 plus years. He was always there when I needed him. I´ll miss sharing the good times and his support in the rough times. We had more fun on the golf course than you can imagine. He will be missed.

My memories of Wayne are with his amazing love for my dear friend and co worker Denise. He came to the office and helped us do surprise lunches and I truly remember that the love they shared was a one of a kind. The best !!
Always in my heart, love you Denise

I thoroughly enjoyed Wayne in our West Sacramento Rotary Club. He made for the quintessential member. He worked hard on projects; volunteered for charitable events; and gave freely of himself. What I will miss most is our time together in a small group throwing dice on the Club Pheasant bar after our regular Friday afternoon meetings. It was always a toss up between Wayne and his good buddy, Ron Chambers, who would take the most money that day. Wayne, we all miss you!

I was very happy to have spent many years in Rotary with Wayne. He was truly an amazing man giving of his time and resources to help the community. Always with a positive attitude and something nice to say. He will truly be missed by all of us.

I remember that Wayne interviewed me for a teaching job at Little Methodist Pre-School in 1979. Little did I expect at that time that later his delightful wife, Dee, and I would be team teachers at that same school. Wayne was a gentleman who will be dearly missed.

His friendship with Jeff and I, shared dinners and lots of laughs. We enjoyed playing cards or games with them and relaxing in their beautiful backyard.
His knowledge and helpfulness with insurance made life easier, such kindness ! He will be dearly missed.

I was very saddened to hear of Wayne's passing. We worked together in insurance for many years. Insurance is not fun but we had a lot of laughs. Wayne loved Dee, Jennifer and Lauren. He was very proud of his girls.
I'm sure Wayne definitely left treasured memories in the hearts of many as he has in mine.

My love to you, Dee, Jennifer, Lauren and the rest of your family.

I am Wayne's cousin (born 1 month after him) and we have another cousin born 1 month after me. We were all from the same location on Long Island. The three of us went to the same high school. Through the years every time there was a family event, the three of us were posed for a photo, and so we three are immortalized in the family albums growing up and into adulthood. No complaints though; we were close, and it was fun. Wayne has always been a great cousin & friend, always there to help me out with his advice, moral support and kindness. While we grew up on Long Island, in adulthood I moved to California and a few years later so did Wayne and his family. 6 years ago, my husband, Don, and I moved close to Wayne's family in their same community. It has been such a joy for us all to be so close. He will be greatly missed, and we give our love, support, and condolences to Wayne's wife, Dee, and their family. Love and Prayers, June Schenck & Donald Hanham
