Age 78, of Pleasant Hills, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Beloved husband for 56 years of Florence I. Sherman; loving father of Steven (Grace) Sherman, Shawn (Kim) Sherman, Kurt Sherman, the late Sherry Ann and Scott J. Sherman; caring grandfather of Nicholas, Alexander, Dean, Andrew, William, Joseph and Sarah Sherman; brother of Harold (Margaret Wirth) Sherman of Oxnard, CA and the late Shirley Ruth Sherman; son of the late Nicholas and Irene Sherman. Wayne was the owner of Dean Honda for three decades, past President of Pittsburgh Auto Trade Association, President and Chairman of the Board of PATA Federal Credit Union since 1986, Member of NADA, South Hills Country Club, Pittsburgh Athletic Association, Past President of Mon Valley Special Olympics, board member of MYARC, 1949 graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School, 1953 graduate of Duquesne University and a United States Army Veteran. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas a Becket Catholic Church. Entombment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
