OTTUMWA — Wilber L. Glasgow, 74, of Ottumwa, died at 4:13 p.m. May 12, 2009, at Hospice House.He was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Wyaconda, Mo., to Raymond and Beulah Brown Glasgow. He married Darlene Bishop March 20, 1954, in Kahoka, Mo.He retired after 30 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works in January 1994. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #74. Wilber enjoyed woodworking, restoring old cars and gardening.Surviving are his wife, Darlene; three sons, Jerry (Judy) Glasgow and Rick (Nancy) Glasgow, both of Ottumwa, Wilber (Sandy) Glasgow Jr. of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Connie (Scott) Hazelwood, Sharon (Jim) Garrett, Brenda (Terry) Feehan, all of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margret Elder of Willard, Mo., Nora Ludwig, Nina Doran and Noma Ginck, all of Canton, Mo.; two brothers, Richard Glasgow of Eldon and Don Glasgow of Ft. Madison; a special nephew who was thought of as a son, Mike Webster of Canton, Mo.; and Mickey Dog, his little Yorkie.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Darlene Elder.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Sneller officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Thursday.Obituary may be viewed at: www.legacy.com/ottumwacourier/Obituaries.asp

Wendell too has lost his Father in the past few days and we just pray that your family and friends are as supportive and caring in this time of need. There is nothing that can replace this kind of comfort in times of great loss. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
