Willemina Isabella Van Straalen

Willemina I. Van Straalen passed away Thurs., Jan. 29, 2009 at the age of 86. She was born Feb. 12, 1922 in S'Gravenzande, The Netherlands. Her childhood and young adult years were spent in Holland where she was a member of the Reformed Congregation of The Netherlands. She married Arie Van Straalen Aug. 23, 1945. In 1949 they immigrated to the U.S.; residing in Chino, CA. In 1975 they returned to Holland where Arie died in 1992. Following her husband's death, Willemina moved to Lynden to be near family. Preceded in death by her husband, Arie in 1992, son Kees in 1975 and infant grandson, Kasey; she is survived by her children Bill (Dianne) Van Straalen of Lynden; daughter-in-law Karen (Gil) Lodder in Holland; Ine (Sal) Perez of Upland, CA; Willma (Jack) Parriera of Ferndale; John (Fien) Van Straalen of Petaluma, CA; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and sister, Sina Zonneveld in Holland. Visitation hours are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Gillies Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wed., Feb. 4, 2:00 pm at Netherlands Reformed Church, 8581 Depot Rd., Lynden. Burial will be in Holland at Barneveld Cemetery, Feb. 6.
