William Flesher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2023.
It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. On April 28th, 2023, William (Bill) Burton Flesher ended the last chapter of his life. Proudly born in Parry Sound, Ontario, on November 11th, 1933, at 11:00am. Predeceased by his parents Jean (nee Glendinning), Burton Benjamin Flesher and sister Barbara Jean Hite. He will forever be remembered by his son Jim Flesher (Joanne) and daughter Wendi Ostler (Gord). Grandchildren Heather Ostler, Holly Faulkner (Kevin), Hillary Ostler (TJ), Katrina Ward (Michael) and Robert Flesher (Margaret). Great-grandchildren Dylan, Grace, Audrey, Cameron, Robert, and Liam. Bill worked at Dofasco as a chauffeur for 38 yrs. His passion for automobiles was reflected in the way he loved and cared for each car he owned. He was proudly driving his Cadillac up until his last day. Bills favorite sport growing up was hockey. He played as a young lad and again in the Dundas Old Timers League. It was a good thing his son chose to play hockey. No parent was more dedicated or proud. Bill had the opportunity to tour and vacation at some interesting places such as Portugal, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, and Hong Kong (his favorite trip). He was a member of a Dart and Bowling league. He also enjoyed a good game of pool. In his retirement, nothing made him happier than golfing. He golfed up until he was 88, still out driving most of his opponents. His last 5 years he moved in beside his son and family and truly enjoyed gardening, drinks on the deck, night time fires, backyard games (he sure loved to win), barbeques, and family get togethers. He will always be remembered for these catch phrases "Right Back Atcha, Unpredictable, Off the Wall, God only Knows, Have you been told today". Till we meet again Hasta La Vista.

My deepest sympathies on your loss. I have many happy memories of Bill and his Dofasco stories. He would often drop over summer evenings when I and my late husband Dave were sitting on our porch, which, being around the corner, faced his kitchen. We were lucky to have had such a great neighbour.

He lived a beautiful life and was very loved by his family. Such a handsome man, he never aged from the day I met him in 1988. RIP Bill.
