William HANNA Obituary
It is with great sadness the Hanna family announces the passing of Mr. Bill Hanna on April 27, 2016 at the age of 72 years.
Bill was a loving husband and father who doted on his family. He resided in the Stony Plain area for 35 years and was a member of the Muir Lake Community League for over 30 years, while serving as president for 20 of those years. He was an extremely hard worker who owned a successful house moving business. After retiring, Bill and his wife Shirley built a retirement home in Yuma, Arizona where they adopted a whole other family.
Bill will be loved and forever missed by his wife of 48 years, Shirley; his sons: Rocky (Cathy), Robert (Sheri), William Jr. (Michelle), Gary (Monique) and Bill Hanson (Amber); daughter-in-law Christine and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John (Nellie); his brother-in-law Earl Fraser (Gerry Ann); his sister-in-law Lorna Davis as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret; his infant son Shawn and his brother Bob in Australia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Bill at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Heritage Park Pavilion, 5100 – 41 Avenue, Stony Plain, AB.

I am from Olds Alberta and back in around 1956 to probably 1961 Billl and Bob used to come to a farm close to our place for the summer holidays and as kids we used to play together and used to shoot arrows and bb guns He had a little bulldog at the time We where good friends and played together I looked for his name for many many years because I knew they were from Edmonton area at that time. Could not find him.Sad because he was just few miles north of Stony ,and never knew till reading his obituary. Would have liked to meet him again.

Shirley and family. Very sorry to to hear of Bills passing. We just found out today. We have many fond memories of the Muir Lake and Cameron Lake days. Simply put Bill was a great guy and lots of fun. Our thoughts are with you.

Mr Hanna was such a great Man to all of us that he coached for years and years. One of my fondest memories was him taking all of the team to KFC for chicken Salad sandwiches after a Tuesday game or practice time after time

Shirley and Kids & Grandkids,
Sending condolences to you all.I was fortunate enough to serve on the Muir Lake Community League executive with your husband, father, grandfather. I had huge admiration & and respect for him. For his kindness, his humour and his "get it done" attitude. I don't think they really make 'em like him anymore. What a wonderful legacy he has left in you kids & grandkids. Amazing man he was. Though Bill's physical body is gone, in transition the souls of our loved onesthe essenceslive on in the afterlife with God. Bill has simply changed from a physical form to a spiritual one. This spiritual form allows him to transcend space and be with us when we need help and also be with him in the spirit realm.
Once we understand that our loved ones are still around us as spirits, we can take the steps to continue spiritual relationships. Only then do we pierce the dark grief clouds allowing rays of light to shine again in our lives. When we let in the light, he helps heal our grief-stricken hearts with love and illuminates our lives.
Bill was born from this life into another, not because God desired his presence in heaven, nor because he was seeking to punish anyone. Instead, he died because that's what happens to all of us.
Bill is no longer in the past he is now in the future. May he blow a breeze onto the shuffleboard to keep me out of that friggin' kitchen shot. God Bless

It was a pleasure to get to know Bill and Shirley and family over the last few months. Some people feel like family and feel like we have known them for many years.
