William R. Kitterman

William Roy Kitterman, 69, of 83 Backman Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, December 4, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on April 20, 1948, the son of William I. and Joan M. Smith Kitterman, he was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield High School and earned an Associate Degree.

A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Kitterman served with the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972.

For thirty years, Mr. Kitterman had been employed as a copier technician working for IKON, Ricoh, and Berkshire Graphics.

Bill was a guitarist and was a member of the Good Time Habit and Sassafras bands and other bands. He also enjoyed woodworking, and was quite the handyman and Mr. Fix-It.

Mr. Kitterman leaves his wife, the former Carole E. Furlano, whom he married June 6, 1975.

He is also survived by a son, Todd A. Kitterman, and his wife, Elizabeth Masterjohn, of Hudson, Mass.; a brother, Ronald Kitterman of Lee; two nieces, Lynn Ritterbeck and Michelle Trong, and a nephew, Glenn Kitterman.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for William R. Kitterman will be held Friday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church, officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Church Food Pantry or to Friends of Renal Dialysis both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
