William Lane Sr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 26, 2025.
William Cory Lane Sr. (1985-2025), of Newport News, Virginia , passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the age of 39. Cory was born to William Chris Lane and Joyce Edgerton Lane on June 6, 1985.

Cory loved being a tree surgeon for 20 years, and for the past 6 years, he enjoyed working with Walt's Tree and Stump Removal. He was happiest when he was at the top of the trees. No tree was ever the same to him, it was always a new experience with each tree he climbed.

Cory's pride and joy were his three children, whom he cherished deeply. He loved spending time with them whether it was taking a trip to Belle Isle, playing disc golf, or just simply doing a puzzle at the dining room table. Cory was an amazing father who did absolutely everything he could for his children. The thing that made him smile the most was seeing his children happy.

Cory was a very hands-on person who enjoyed fishing, playing disc golf, camping , hiking, looking for rocks and walking on the beach with his fiancee and children.

Cory was survived by his fiancee, Shannan Irene White; his three children , William Cory Lane Jr. , Alexis Hope Lane and Dustin Allan Ele; his mother, Joyce Edgerton Laslo, and stepfather, Steve Laslo; his sister, Virginia (Ginny) Lane, her boyfriend, Kevin Young, and her children, Skyla Lane, Jayden Lane, and Angel Lane; His brother Steven Laslo; his sister, Layla Lane; his niece, Alissa White and her children Josiah Demery and Jeremiah Demery; His best friend Alex Lucero, his wife Kristyn Lucero, and their children Deziare Lucero, Devin Lucero and Alli Lucero. He was preceded in death by Virginia Edgerton , Alvin Lane and Chris Lane.
