William Moon Obituary
Born October 12, 1968, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph D. Moon III and Mary Christy Moon, his maternal grandfather, William Raymond Christy, and his many four legged companions.
He was a 1987 graduate of Seneca Valley High School where he starred on the football team as a fullback and middle linebacker. He then met the love of his life and best friend Deborah Moon-Shaffer and went on to start a family. He held a variety of professional positions including owning Strong Arm Cleaning.
He was a fighter. He faced more challenges in his life than most and he faced each challenge with a smile and never complained. His family hopes to carry on his legacy and asks you to join by being kind and caring like he was, by giving people second chances and the benefit of the doubt, and by being strong for him and because of him.
He is survived by one daughter, Samantha Gregory and his special son in law Luke Gregory; one son, Tyler Moon; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Kamden Gregory of Athens, OH; one brother, Joseph D Moon IV of Franklin Park; his best friend and true love Deborah Moon-Shaffer;
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amyloidisis Research Consortium 320 Nevada Street, Suite 210, Newton MA 02460.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, OH.
