William "Bill" Pearlman died peacefully at home on March 4, 2022. He was 69 years old. Bill graduated from Howe Military School, attended Northern Michigan University, and the prestigious Gemology Institute of America (GIA) in Los Angeles, where he earned his Graduate Gemologist in Residence diploma. He took over the family business, Pearlman's Jewelers, in the 1970's. Bill was a creative, dedicated businessman and jeweler. As CEO of Pearlman's, he appreciated the artistry and beauty of fine jewelry and loved sharing his knowledge and passion with customers. He also had an unconventional streak — he once traded a Rolex for a cockatoo. He was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek, Michigan and an esteemed and respected member of its business community for 40+ years. He's a past president of the Rotary Club, and has worked with the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce. Adaptable and innovative, he was an early adopter of the internet and web technology in the late 90s. Pearlman's Jewelers was the first fine jewelry website to exclusively feature award-winning jewelry designers and showcase professional high-resolution product imagery. He was well traveled and fascinated by different cultures. A longtime golf aficionado, he was fortunate to play in many locales, with tee times in Battle Creek to Edinburgh, Scotland. More recently, he enjoyed life at home with the love of his life, wife Brenda, and their dogs, Daisy, Midnight, and Prince. He loved cooking, taking long drives in the country, and exploring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Marjorie Pearlman; brother, Lt. Col. J. Thomas Pearlman and sister, Tamara Pearlman. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Pearlman; daughter Kezia Pearlman; stepdaughter, Linda Durant and siblings, Dianne Pearlman Brown, Patricia Pearlman Steffes, John Pearlman and sister-in-law, Janice Pearlman. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jasmine and Jeremy Brandenburger. A private memorial celebration for close family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Humane Society of South Central Michigan or Binder Park Zoo. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.

Heartfelt condolences to John and Pat and all the Pearlman family at the loss of your mother and at this time your brother Bill. I have nothing but fond memories of the familiy from the time I was a young child. Bill and I had many "discusions" together about all important world affairs. Also a lot of "trash" talking. I always enjoyed Bills' company. He and I were close enough in age to do a lot of laughing while at the store. I'm very sorry Bill was lost so soon.

There was only one the Pearl! He will be dearly missed! We traveled together and spent slot of time together before moving north. But I still would call and talk to him and see what he was cooking today! As I told Brenda my Bob and Bill are probably up there plotting something else!

I will miss my dear friend! I have known Bill for over 12 years and during those times, we became blood brothers with many hours talking, laughing, crying and solving the worlds problems! I love that man like my own brother.
