William Power Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 14 to Feb. 15, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that the family of William (Bill) Joseph Power announce his passing on February 9, 2024.

Bill was a proud Newfoundlander - growing up in Salmonier. He was the youngest of 13 children. He moved to Halifax where he built a successful plumbing business, WJ Power Plumbing and Heating.

Bill loved renovations, from which his children and friends benefitted immensely!! Always eager to take on any project - big or small. A highlight for Bill was his frequent chats with nephews John in Halifax and Brian in Newfoundland.

Bill will be remembered for his generosity, integrity, kindness, and positive spirit. He leaves behind his wife Eleanor Duggan; son Randy Duggan (Arlene); daughters Debbie Buckoski (Daryl) and Lori Duggan (Stephen O'Leary); grandchildren; nieces and nephews in the Power and Duggan families.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, March 3 (weather permitting) at Tarek's Café, 3045 Robie Street, Halifax, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Bill was a fantastic neighbor for the last decade, always so helpful and pleasant for a chat. We always admired his energy and industriousness around his house and property, such a fine man. We will miss him a great deal. Our sincerest condolences to Eleanor and family.

I will always have the fondest memories of Uncle Bill. Seeing Uncle Bill and his brothers together was really the beginning of my understanding of family. I loved to see them all together, they were quite comical. Uncle Bill is the last in that line of GREAT Power men. He will be deeply missed but his larger than life spirit will always remain in my memory. Rest in peace uncle Bill. My condolences to his family and friends.
