William Ray Obituary

William "Bill" Ray, 78, of La Salle, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home. He was born April 9, 1940 in Brighton, CO to Melville and Margaret Ray.

Bill has lived in La Salle for the past 65 years. He graduated from La Salle High School in 1958. He worked as a dairyman and farmer most of his life. He received several awards for the high quality milk and was very hardworking for his family. Bill has been blissfully married to Patty for 54 years. He was a member of the La Salle First Presbyterian Church since he was young. He served two years in the U.S. Army.

Bill enjoyed traveling, camping and playing cards with his family and friends. He loved going to his sons' and grandchildren's sporting events. As a hobby, Bill also was a honeybee keeper.

Bill is survived by his wife, Patty Ray; sons, Randy Ray (Brenda Schafer) and Steve Ray (Brenda Hilzer); sisters, Loretta Lightsey (Herb), Janell Walker and Joy Saunders; grandson, CJ and granddaughters, Ashley VanSlyke (BJ), Kelsey, Kenzie and Courtney Sandoval.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the La Salle First Presbyterian Church, 51 Church Court, La Salle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Hospice in care of Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
