William George "Bill" Reece

William "Bill" George Reece of Mandeville, Louisiana died on Monday, April 19, 2021 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on February 14, 1956 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Janet Gloria (Toft) Reece and William Thomas Reece. Bill grew up in Iowa and graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1974. He later graduated from Ellsworth Community College and attended Drake University for several years. Bill loved the Iowa "Hawkeyes", golfing, spending time with his friends and family and he especially loved as a little boy going to his grandpa and grandma's farm in the summer. He was united in marriage to Nancy Smith on December 30, 1981 at Buck Creek United Methodist Church. Bill and Nancy moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he went into business with his brother-in law, Don Joyce. Bill and Nancy founded Reece Landscape and Planners, L.LC. based in Mandeville, Louisiana. Bill dedicated four decades to his business and loved working outside improving customers' properties. One of Bill's favorite past times was playing recreational basketball, biking and camping in the mountains. He loved traveling and exploring in their R.V. He also loved watching movies, playing cards and any game that was competitive with his friends and family. He was an avid LSU Tigers football and New Orleans Saints fan. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with them any chance he could. Bill loved his church, his church family and great friends. He had an amazing sense of humor and could light up a room with his laugh and stories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Smith Reece, his son, William & Lesley Reece, and their children, Lily, Grace, Regina and Isaiah, his son Charles Reece, his sister Bonita & Don Joyce of Mahtomedi, Minnesota, his sister Tevi Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Kim Reece and his parents, William Thomas Reece and Janet Gloria (Toft) Nail. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Tammany Oaks Church of Christ, 3700 Highway 59, Mandeville, LA 70471 at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will take place on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Brighton Township Cemetery in Marne, Iowa.
