William W. Russell, Jr.

1931 - 2025

William (Bill) Russell, age 94 of Myrtle Beach, SC passed peacefully in his home on March 3, 2025 following a brief illness.

Bill was born On February 6, 1931 in Danvers, Massachusetts. He graduated Milford High School in Milford, NH in 1949. He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1951 and was honorably discharged in December 1952. During his time of service he was proud to have played trombone in the U.S. Navy Band.

Bill lived a long and interesting life. He worked as a salesman for National Gypsum Company for many years. He was a founding member of Faith Community Church in Dover, Delaware. He formed Fencepost Realty at Lake Linganore near Frederick, Maryland. Selling real estate was his greatest passion and he made many friends wherever he went.

He was well traveled with trips to Russia and the Holy Land to name a couple.

His exploits are too numerous to mention; suffice it to say, his was a life well lived. And if you were privileged to know him, he would regale you with stories of his travels.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Rae Perry of Wilmington, DE and his son, W. Scott Russell of Portland, ME; son-in-law Charles Perry; daughter-in-law Renee Russell; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His youngest son, Mark Russell of Wilmington predeceased him as did Bill's four wives.

Bill was adamant that he didn't want a funeral or memorial service. In his words, "put me in a box, put me in the ground and cover me up". He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as friends and family who preceded him and he is very happy to be reunited with them. He was interred at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Maryland.
