SCHULTHEIS
Dr. William (Bill) F. Schultheis, Col. US Army (Ret.), went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the age of 69. He was born on October 31, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Dr. Robert and Mildred Schultheis. Bill graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University and volunteered for the United States Army Medical Corps after his internship in Portland Oregon. Bill served with the 101st Airborne Division and as a Battalion Surgeon in Vietnam. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Order of Medical Merit, Soldiers Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Clusters, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with 5 Campaign Stars, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Clusters, Overseas Service Ribbon (European Service) and the USAR Service Medal. He married the love of his life, Doris Sue Kinser on August 15, 1969 at Fort Hood, Texas. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Sue Schultheis; daughter and son-in-law, Dedra and Patrick Beyer; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Roger Alexander; 5 grandchildren; brother and wife, Robert and Merlyn Schultheis of Jamestown, North Carolina; brother and wife, Dr. Roland and Judith Schultheis of Portland, Oregon and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Gayle Kinser of Friendswood, Texas.
