William Shroyer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 2 to Mar. 3, 2024.
William "Bill" Shroyer went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2024, at the age of 80.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters Wendy Kohler, Michelle Pritchard, and Laura Poppell; sons Scott Shroyer, Daniel Shroyer, and Chris Shroyer; Grandchildren Sydney Benson, Morgan Pritchard, Jacob Kohler, Ariel Jones, Nicholas Kohler, Mia Shroyer, Reagan Kohler, Luke Shroyer, Grant Shroyer, Samuel Shroyer, Madison Poppell, Alyssa Poppell, Isaiah Pritchard, Isaac Shroyer, and Ian Shroyer; Great Grandchildren Scarlett Jones and Spencer Benson; and his sister Marilyn Hayes. He is preceded in death by parents Lyman and Edith Shroyer and sister Connie LaBenne.

Bill was born on December 13, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Lyman and Edith Shroyer. Bill graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Engineering. After graduating, he joined the Navy as a pilot and was set apart as a "Distinguished Naval Graduate". Bill married Ellen, his wife of 56 loving years, on August 11, 1968. Over the next 8 years, the couple welcomed four children into their home. They later extended their love by welcoming two more children into their home. After his career in the Navy, Bill started a very successful business in Michigan with his business partner and eventually moved the business to Arkansas.

Bill was passionate about his family and enjoyed spending lots of time with his wife, children and grandchildren. After retirement, he and Ellen loved being on "the Ranch", enjoying the horses, animals and the peacefulness of the land. He was a very generous man who loved people and giving of himself for others. Bill often volunteered weekly doing food truck runs with his good friend to the Food Pantry for the church.

The family will be doing a private Life Celebration. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Seeds of Love at 12 Primrose Ln, Greenbrier, AR 72058 (501-679-5657). The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the ICU at Conway Regional Hospital and the amazing staff at Seeds of Love for the love and care you gave to "Mr. William".
