William R. Wanner, Jr.

William R. Wanner, Jr., age 65, died Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at his Phoenixville, PA home.

Bill was born on March 12, 1959, in Pottstown, PA to the late William R. and Edith (Pfleger) Wanner. He graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School where he served as Drum Line Capitan, Band President and was a member of the National Honor Society. He was the Inter-County Band President and received the John Philip Sousa Service Award, Valley Forge Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of American Revolution Award and the Schwenksville Lions Club Model Student Award. He earned an associates degree from Widener University and graduated from Maxwell Institute.

Bill served in numerous area bands including Orange Marmalade, Put-ons, Belladonna, Power Play, The Mango Men, Beg Borrow and Steel, church worship band, Kimberton Waldorf School musicals, and the Norristown Chorale.

Bill owned and operated B.W. Insurance Solutions. He was a member of the Royersford Baptist Church and Spring-Ford Lodge #553, F.&A.M.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Samantha, wife of Daniel Gower, Media, PA; his grandchildren, Aurora and David Gower; his sisters, Susan, wife of the late William Wilds, Wilson, NC, and Edith Mae "Edie" Wanner Robinson, Margate, NJ; and his fiancé, Deborah (Stauffer) Guest, Westminster, CO.



Bill's funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 14th, at Royersford Baptist Church, 452 S. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468, with the Rev. Sarah Strosahl-Kagi, Pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Monday, at church. A graveside service will be at 1:45 PM, Monday, in Mt. Zion Cemetery, 225 E. Schuylkill Rd, Pottstown, PA 19465. Memorial contributions may be made to Perkiomen Valley High School Band. Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe, PA.
