William I. Wolf Jr.

Wolf, William I. Jr. HOBE SOUND, Fla. William I. Wolf Jr., 95, passed away in Hobe Sound on Monday, November 28, 2016. William was born in Albany on October 21, 1921, to the late Margaret LaPointe and William I. Wolf. William married his high school sweetheart, the late Mary Irene Stahl Wolf on November 22, 1945. They celebrated 64 years of marriage together until Mary Irene passed away in July, 2010. William attended the Blessed Sacrament School in Albany, and served as an altar boy for the Blessed Sacrament Church. He later attended the Vincentian Institute in Albany, where he enjoyed playing in the band and being a soloist for the dance band. William also attended Siena College in Loundonville. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his Country during World War II, both in Northern Africa and in Italy. For several years, William was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Thomas B. Flynn #1035 American Legion Post and the Forty and Eight (Voiture#348). He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation as a civil engineer, until his retirement in May of 1983. William was predeceased by his three sisters, Margaret Stevens, Rita Romanzo and Catherine Wolf, who died as an infant. He is survived by two daughters, Suzanne and her husband, J. Michael O'Brien of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Mary Katherine and her husband, Tim Oldemoppen of Hobe Sound; and a son, William J. Wolf and his wife, Julie of Hernando, Fla. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christy and her husband, Patrick Condon of Charlotte, N.C., Cynthia Clemente of Loudonville, Thomas A. Clemente and his wife, Kristen of Amherst, Michael Wolf and his wife, Kerry of South Windsor, Conn. and Casey Oldemoppen of San Diego. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Aiden and Liam Condon, Tom, Aden and Emily Clemente, and Jack, Alexa, and Brooklyn Wolf. In addition he is survived by his stepgrandson, Shane O'Brien and his wife, Bianca of Boynton Beach; and their children, Valentina, Melanie, and Alessandra O'Brien. William is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at a later date in the Spring.
