WILLIE EARL CROMARTIE

Mr. Willie Earl Cromartie, 29, of 2305 Front Street, Hopewell, Va., departed this life on January 9, 2018.

Willie, who was also known as "Man" to family and "Stunna" to many others was born on January 26, 1988, to Sharron D. Cromartie. He attended Hopewell Public Schools and was currently employed at Fiorucci Foods, Inc.

Willie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Chester and Mollie Sykes; great-grandmother, Dorothy Avent; uncle, Gregory Cromartie; and great-aunts, Clandy Warren and Margaret Jones.

Left to cherish his precious memories; his loving and devoted parents, Sharron D. Cromartie and Terry Simpson; loving son, Jaylan M. Cromartie; five devoted sisters, Shamara Matthew (Cary), Sherelle, Sharnice, Shakita Cromartie and Shaunta Johnson (Elllis); one devoted brother, Tariq Simpson; grandparents Willie and Bernice Harris; five devoted uncles, Johnnie Cromartie, Ronnie Cromartie, Donnell Sykes (Angela), Alonzo Sykes (Twanda) and Michael Harris (Gloria); two aunts, Pamela Gary (Wayne) and Deloris Parham (Alex); two great-aunts, devoted aunt Celestine Mease (Howard) and Clara Brackett; eighteen nieces and nephews; other devoted family and friends to include Alonzo Sykes Jr., Claudette James, Navonne Parson; best friends, Markese Thomas, Jerome Stith, Furb, Tank Dog, Dee Dee, The Langston Park family, Boston Street family and the Front Street family.

Willie was so full of life. He could go anywhere and befriend anybody. His son, Jaylan, was his reflection. He loved his son like no other. All he ever said was, "Nobody is going to take care of my Lil' Soulja the way that I'm going to take care of my Lil' Soulja." Willie did just that!

He was a great father and a fun loving uncle that enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to rap and listen to rap music. His favorite artist was Soulja Slim. Willie will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the chapel of Bland & Tucker Funeral Homes, 137 Harrison Street, Petersburg. Burial will follow the service immediately at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Hopewell chapel of Bland & Tucker Funeral Homes.
