Willie was a dear friend, highly respected telephone man, devoted family man, and Christian.
We worked together in the same office off and on for many years at the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. We even "car-pooled" during our lean years in the "50's".
Willie was a mentor to many telephone employees. He loved to teach!
His vast knowledge and understanding of the business and how it could benefit customers was often demonstrated.
He set a high bar for himself and his employees.

When I think of Uncle Chick, I mostly remember his sense of humor, his love of a cold beer, his pride for serving his country, endless domino games in the garage, and most notably his enduring love of his family. He made for a pretty good dishwasher too. As a kid, I remember laughing at him when he talked back to Tootsie (under his breath of course). So many memories, Chick. While I mourn your loss, I am so happy that you are with our Lord and reunited with Tootsie!

Chick and Lucille were both Loving people. Always made us feel welcome. More recently, I can still see Chick setting in his rocker in the garage enjoying his beer and country music. Eloise and I will miss his great personality and his friendship. We have known Chick for over 47 years.
