Cheryl and the Yearell Family:
Thanks so much for being so nice to us while we were in Atlanta for the Meridianites Convention and Picnic last year.
We want you to know that our prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. Please keep us in your prayers, as well, as our family has also experienced the loss of a loved one last week. Again, thanks for your kindness.

To the Yearell Family:
I feel as though I have lost a member of my family, as Mr. Yearell, along with the other men of the Jerry Yearell Ensemble, helped steer me from childhood into adulthood. One of the things I will always remember about Mr. Yearell is that one never had to guess about how he felt about certain issues. He was going to give his honest opinion no matter whose toes would be stepped on. I respected his honestly. This is something we all should learn to do. On the Sunday before he went into the hospital for the last time, he promised me he would fix a light switch in my bathroom. I could tell he wasn't feeling well, but believe it or not, he kept his word, and I now have light in my bathroom. I said all of this to say, the second lesson I learned from Mr. Yearell, was to always keep a promise. The third and most important lesson I learned from Mr. Yearell was to love unconditionally. He loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He always bragged about their accomplishments. I am also proud to say that he was also proud of my accomplishments, as well. My son Marques, was also one of the young men Mr. Yearell took under his wings at St. John. It is through the times spent repairing electrical appliances around the church, that Marques now has a vast knowledge of how to "fix" things too. Mr. Yearell always commented about how smart "that boy" was and how proud he was of him too. As an act of selfishness,I prayed every day for Mr. Yearell's physical healing on this side of heaven, but God chose to heal him on the other side. I'm glad he has been released from all pain and suffering, but I will truly miss his laughter and words of wisdom. Thank you for sharing your loved one with so many of us. With deepest sympathy.

Its so hard to say GOODBYE!

Papa Ive cried and cried but my tears of sorrow are now turing into tears of JOY. Joy because I now know that you are no longer hurting and that you are in a better place now. My only regret is not being as close to you all my life as I was the last part of yours. You didnt adopt me I adopted you.

I will miss calling you trying to make you get out of the chair and let that remote go lol.

Mrs Yearell, Cheryl, Alicia, Kyle, Keirra, Zack.... I know that there is not way I will ever know how you all really feel. I do know that the impact Mr Yearell had on my life and the love and respect I had/have for him I am already missing him dearly.

I'm sorry for the loss of your loved one. I'm going to keep my head up because thats what he would have wanted me to do.

I love you all..... take care and keep GOD first.

To the Yearell Family,

Mr. Yearell was a special man. He taught both of my older brothers in Newton and they thought the world of him. They would come home everyday with some anecdote from his class. He did not teach me, but always remembered me and seemed genuinely happy to see me when we crossed paths in Meridian. I will remember his smile.

Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you:
I have called you by your name, you are mine.
Should you pass through the sea, I will be there with you;
or through rivers, they will not swallow you up.
Should you walk through fire, you will not be scorched
and the flames will not burn you...
Do not be afraid, for I am with you.

The loss of someone so close is difficult to bear. We share your grief.
May precious memories of Mr. Yearell and God's Word comfort you today and always.

2nd Corinthians 5:1-5 (NLT) says: For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down-when we die and leave these bodies-we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies. Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it's not that we want to die and have no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life. God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

We mourn his death but we rejoice for he is resting in his new home.
