Wyatt Woodhall Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 18 to May 19, 2021.
Wyatt Woodhall

Stanford - Wyatt William Woodhall - loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, brother, and loyal friend, lost his courageous battle to cancer. He passed away peacefully at his home in Stanford, MT surrounded by his loving family on May 13, 2021. Wyatt was 50 years old. He was born to George and Rose Woodhall on October 27, 1970. Wyatt attended grade school in Stanford and Hobson, MT and graduated high school as a proud West High Bear from Billings, MT. Many of his childhood memories were of hunting, fishing, and hiking in the mountain ranges of Montana. He was a standout student athlete who excelled at basketball and football. Wyatt continued his passion for sports after high school as a Dawson Community College Buccaneer and Western Bulldog basketball player. He graduated from the University of Montana Western in Dillon, MT with a degree in Health and Human Performance. After graduating Wyatt returned home to Stanford to take over Woodhall Distributing, a family business of 58 years. He married his college sweetheart, Holly LaFond, on June 24, 1995 and together they raised an amazing family.

His love for community and kids was unmatched. His title of Coach will never be forgotten. It wasn't just about the "W' on the weekends, it was about encouragement, commitment, integrity, and above all making kids believe in themselves. Wyatt's passion for coaching allowed him to spend countless hours with his own children. From pounding the wrestling mats and running the bases on the T-Ball field, to countless basketball drills and holding the clipboard during a state football championship, Wyatt wouldn't have it any other way. He could be counted on to help purchase equipment and even sit behind the wheel of a yellow school bus to get the baseball team to the diamond.

Wyatt was dedicated to keeping his community alive and was a longtime supporter of the Stampede and Booster Clubs. He could be found donating his winnings from a game of dice to local organizations. He was committed to bringing and keeping his community together. That was his life calling; Unity. "It didn't matter what class, creed, or race you came from, Wyatt was level with everyone and that is why he is so loved." His selfless nature made him one of a kind.

Along with his loyalty and character, Wyatt's wit and charm were unmatched. Stories will be forever cherished and celebrated among us all.

Wyatt is survived by his wife, Holly; children, Dylan (granddaughter, Mayci), Kade, Rhet, and Adie Rose; siblings, Tammy (Ron) Fode, Steve (Barb) Woodhall, and Robyn Woodhall; numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A Celebration of Wyatt's life will be held in his honor at the Stanford School gymnasium on May 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm; cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established under the Woodhall name at Stockman Bank, Stanford Montana. The fund will support and honor Wyatt's long standing passion of assisting the community.

Wyatt - Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Friend, Coach; Always Loved, Forever missed, and never Forgotten. "Soar high our fearless and brave leader"

To the entire Woodhall Family,
My laughter and memories growing up in Billings with Wyatt and Robyn will always be some of my most cherished. Especially when I went to Twirp with Wyatt. We were the athletes. His tenacity in high school pushed me to become the athlete I was in college and at the pro level. His never ending wit and one liners will stay with all of us FOREVER. Rest in power my dear friend and know you truly made your soul a part of us through your everyday love of life and family and sports. xoxox
