Yvonne Shirley (Mailahn) O'Brien, 76, passed away Monday, December 24, 200, in Prosser.

She was born on October 14, 1931, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to Herbert August Mailahn and Eunice Marie (Krueger) Mailahn.

She married Kenneth Nile O'Brien Sr. on June 1, 1955, in Seymour, Wisconsin, and soon after made their home in Anchorage, Alaska. From 1977 to 1998, she worked for the Anchorage School District at Service High School.

Yvonne moved to Auburn, Washington, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Arthur and Mary (O'Brien) Riedinger in 2002. They moved to Prosser in 2005 where she resided until her death. She enjoyed the hot weather in the summertime in Prosser.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Nile O'Brien Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert August Mailahn; brother, Robert Lee Mailahn; son-in-law, Pete Petrovich; and one great-grandchild (O'Brien).

She is survived by four sons, Michael Kenneth Mueller and his wife, Marty Mueller of Anchorage, AK, Gary Lee Mueller and his wife, Linda of England, Mark Anthony O'Brien and his wife, Teresa of Evansville, WY, Kenneth Nile O'Brien Jr. and his wife, DeAnne of Lacey, WA; four daughters, Peggy Lane Graser and her husband, Phil of Seward, AK, Mary Margaret Riedinger and her husband, Arthur of Prosser, WA, Jean Carol Sampson and her husband, Russel of Palmer, AK, and Christina Marie O'Brien of Dallas, TX. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Prosser Funeral Home on Friday, December 28th, from noon until 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29t, at noon at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints, Prosser Ward. There will be viewing from 10 a.m. to noon in the Relief Society Room at the church prior to the service.
