Warren was born on August 18, 1938, on the South Dakota Prairie in Columbia, SD to Stephen and Mabel (Krause) Felix. In 1953, his freshman year, Warren was stricken with Polio and spent many days in the Aberdeen, SD hospital on an Iron Lung. Despite missing his entire freshman year in High School, he graduated with his original High School Class from Columbia High School in 1957. Following graduation, he attended Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD to pursue a career in teaching. After completion of College, Warren was assigned a military draft number that assured its certainty, and instead of being drafted, Warren enlisted in the United States Army where he served actively from 1961-1964 and in a reserve role from 1964 to 1967.
During his time stationed in Germany, he met Beverly Barry on a blind date while she was teaching at the United States Army Base.
Warren and Beverly were married on June 26, 1965, in Lexington, MA. The couple then moved to Northville, SD and then to Henderson in 1967 where they raised their children.
He dedicated over 30 years of his life to the Henderson and Henderson- LeSueur school districts teaching various subjects, such as Phy-Ed, Social Studies, History and Political Science, while also participating as a Football and Basketball coach.
He was an active member of Henderson American Legion Post 74, until his health prevented him from actively participating with the post just a few years ago, much to his chagrin.
He also owned an Auctioneering business and Antique shops in Henderson with his wife Beverly for many years, known as Felix Auction Service and Valley Antiques.
Even with long lasting side effects from Polio, Warren was an outstanding athlete and was a member of the European Army Basketball Team during his service in Germany. He was an avid Red-Wing pottery collector, an avid Hamm's Beer Memorabilia collector, stock market trader, coin collector and a poultry aficionado and trader. He also enjoyed spending time going to Mystic Lake Casino. While growing up in SD, he became an avid New York Yankees fan listening to them on the family radio in SD.
Warren genuinely cared for all his students and players he coached and left a lasting impression on them with his old school, tough love style. He never missed a chance to visit and catch up with former students and players later in life. He was never one to shy from Politics either, always being a Proud Minnesota DFLer. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with and raising his family.
He is survived by his children, Stephan (Darla) Felix of Seeley Lake, MT, Stephanie (Bill Olson) Stasica of Savage, MN, Stacy Anderley of Monticello, MN, and Sheilah (Michael Toft) Felix of New Prague, MN; grandchildren, Lora (James) Wilkins of Jordan, Anna, Ava and Alex Anderley, Claire Felix, and Brynlee and Charlotte Toft; great-grandchildren, Landon, Dawson and Nixon Wilkins; sister, Barbara Halverson; and dear friend Lois Dvorak of Henderson along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Mabel Felix; wife, Beverly Felix (2001); infant son, Brian (1966); daughter, Shanna Felix (2008); grandson, Jared Felix (2025) and sister Elizabeth (Bette) (2015)
