BELLEFONTAINE -- Allen Reed Freshcorn, age 86, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Logan Acres Senior Community in Bellefontaine. He was born July 21, 1938 to the late Reed Freshcorn and Loretta (Barnes) Freshcorn. He married Patsy (Faurot) Freshcorn on August 12, 1961 and she preceded him in death April 2016.
He is survived by children Mike (Beverly) Freshcorn of Kenton, Ron (Tami) Freshcorn of Kenton, Steve (Torrey) Freshcorn of Kenton, Gary (Vicki) Freshcorn of Ridgeway, Connie Kohler of Wapakoneta; brothers Gene (Judy) Freshcorn of Marysville, Wesley (dec.) (Diane) Freshcorn of Kenton; sisters Annie (Earl, dec.) Gearheart of Columbus, Karen (dec.) (Lee) Johnson of Oklahoma; grandchildren Kevin and Amanda Freshcorn; Nathan, Derrick, Andrew, and Nichole Freshcorn; Colin and Hayden Freshcorn; Mikayla, Jonah, Josiah, and Jordyn Freshcorn; Courtney and Alison Kohler; 3 great grandchildren; cousin Lois Tillman; and several nephews and nieces.
He was a 1957 graduate of McGuffey High School and worked as a mechanic at Ford Motor Company on the repair line for 38 years. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed tinkering and repairing tractors and other farm equipment. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 11 am on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home, Kenton, with Ken Green officiating, with visitation held 1 hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Otterbein Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Allen gave away many positive memories which God inspired him to share. He now reunites with the pure, positive, and perfect and we are joyful.
